Happy Happy Birthday!

Each year I try to be happy for my wonderful Husband whose birthday falls just before Christmas. I have tried to talk him into celebrating it in the summer when it would be lots more fun. . . ha ha. . . but I feel for all those who have birthday's landing near the most major Holiday of the year. . . And I feel much more for those who are responsible for making it special and standout. . ish next to the whopper of Christmas. It is pretty difficult to not use Christmas wrapping paper to wrap the Birthday Gifts. . . after all I am a total creature of comfort and convenience. . . and to be honest . . fairly burned out as Christmas nears. In my defense I did wrap his gifts in non Christmas paper this year. . wahooooo!
So enough about the woes of me. . . since this day isn't about me. . (Grin)
Today we Celebrate the man who loves my children and I unconditionally, the one who tries to have great faith and lead and teach his family to be moral and Christlike individuals, the one who delights in knowledge, and is a light in the room to be with.
Happy Birthday Love!

Halloween Madness is Coming!

october 2008 038

We have a busy week ahead of us. . . as we were sitting at dinner tonight discussing all the days this week that have multiple activities occurring at the same time. . . oh boy!. . . that is all I have to say.   I hate picking and choosing what will trump the other, but that is definitely the case this week.  Saturday will be the hardest with a soccer game and our snack day, football game, foot ball banquet, 1birthday party, 1 Halloween party, 1 neighborhood Halloween carnival that we are helping at a booth, not to mention trick or treating in itself. . . and to top it all off we need to figure out costumes still.  The other days seem fairly easy compared to Saturday.

RS Craft Night!

I came upon this great blog that we have picked up some ideas for a RS Meeting Craft Night from Windmill lettering click here to see what they have been doing. We are doing the Christmas Countdown blocks (although we are doing our own kits. . . thanks for the idea though). I can't help it if I have every tool to cut wood known to man. . . kidding. . . not quite. . . but close. . . and Michele has a vinyl lettering machine which means if you are in our RS you are hooked up.
So the other night when I was up in the wee hours of the night surfing random blogs I came across www.tipjunkie.com and they were talking about their craft group which is called "not your mama's craft group" NYMCG. I thought it was hilarious and fabulous, and I wish I was that clever, but I am not so I will just use ideas from other people's handy blogs to facilitate the activities that we create at church.
