Granny Morris's email quote

A quote fromPres. Hinckley "Some years ago I clipped an article on Commander WilliamRobert Anderson, the man who first took a submarine under the North Polefrom the waters of the Pacific to the waters of the Atlantic. It was an untried dangerous mission. In his wallet he carried a tattered card with these words:

"I believe I am always guided, I believe I will always take the right road. I believe God will always make a way where there is noway". "Be not afraid, only believe." Mark 5:36"

Low tide

We went out to salt water state park at low tide to see what was hiding under the rocks. The Orr Family is in town for a few days and it was sunny so we ran for the outdoors, ha ha.

spring is coming!!!

well, its been a crazy week. busy busy. But hey isn't that everyones life. . . congrats wyatt on the new job, give us a call sometime and let us know how its going. Don't get crazy down there with all the crazies. ha ha. Matt will golf with you anytime you want to fly up here. Our neighborhood backs up to a golfcourse.
Well Mckay has started saying words. They are currently, go, chair, cheese, mommy, dadda, no, popco for popcorn, shoes, and ball. Yeah we have a talker, which is better than a non talker. Sid is improving all the time. She doesn't qualify for speech therapy after her birthday, but is going to be evaluated with the school district to see if she qualifies under their programs. She is doing well, but has a way to go.
New this week we got a trampoline, its 10 feet wide and knee high. The kids love it.
Ethan was out of school this past week for winter break???????? ya we haven't quite figured out the reason for that one, considering school doesn't get out until the end of june??? hmmmm.
Ethan also get new ear tubes this wednesday. Wish us luck that it solves all our problems. It always makes me nervous to do anything with the kids, but I am sure he will be brave.
I may want the kids to do swim lessons while we are in idaho and utah this summer so someone , meaning adrianne or lyndi find me some info. I say you two because your kids will probably be enrolled, right???
Matt is going to Boston this weekend, but I just got a call tonight from the orr's that they may be up. That would be perfect so i don't feel so abandoned with four kids. Hopefully they are around long enough for us to hang out. I think mellissa needs to come stay at our house too, so we don't have to share you guys so much. That is just my opinion.
anyway, i hope all is well is the artic, my neighbor mowed his grass today. It made it feel like spring is coming, wahooooo.

Tagged

I was tagged by Carlen, which is forcing me to add to post an entry, which is good since its been a while.

1. post the rules before you give your own answers;
2. then, list a fun fact about yourself for each letter of your middle name (if you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name);
3. after you are tagged, you need to update your blog with your middle name and your answers.
4. at the end of your blog post, tag one person for each letter of your middle name (be sure to leave them a comment telling them they've been tagged and that they need to read your blog for details.

I wasn't given a middle name, but my maiden name is Benson

B. Ball. I was taught from an early age how to play ball, and it was a favorite family activity growing up. I played basketball, volleyball, and softball in high school, and volleyball in college.

E. Ethan. Ethan is my oldest child, and is a very caring and sensitive. I learn alot from him.

N. nine. I come from nine siblings. i am the second to the oldest.

S. sun. I love the sunshine, and it makes me happy. I love to be in sunny places. I have always lived in sunny parts of the world until now. (i am still happy). I have lived in Idaho, Hawaii, Utah, and the Philippines.

O. Odd. My parents saw my name in the credits after a movie they were watching. we have named three of our children after names we liked on a movie. They all get family middle names.

N. Never say never. I told Matt the first time we "hung out" that I would never date someone I served with on my mission. We were married seven months later, hmmm.

Mckay and the emergency room

well we are crazy at our house. We spent today in the emergency room in tacoma with mckay. He got a hold of a ceramic vase in the front room and was beating it with something until it was shattered and then picked up the pieces and put a little one in his mouth and took larger pieces and was playing with them. They were so sharp it cut through his thumb seriously deep. He didn't even care that he was cut, he came walking in to the kitchen with blood on his hands and mouth and I looked at him thinking he had gotten into candy or something before I realized it was blood. I started rinsing him in the sink to assess what he had done. I was checking his mouth when I noticed a piece in his mouth. I tried to get it out but he wanted it in there and he fought and swallowed it. Luckily it was somewhat small, maybe the size of a tooth. We got his thumb bandaged to stop the bleeding, and called the doctor and they thought he should go to the emergency room because the object was sharp. we spent two hours in the waiting room, another hour waiting in a room to be seen and an hour after he was seen until they released him. And we were in tacoma because they wanted us to be seen at a childrens hospital.
anyway. they said he would probably be okay because it was small, just to watch for blood in the diaper. they don't really do anything unless there is bleeding. And he got two stitches in his thumb. He sat very quietly and watched his thumb get stitched. he didnt' cry or say anything. He was very calm.
This is the first time any of our kids have been to the emergency room, I guess we have been lucky so far.

Needless to say between all our doctors visits this week, a baby shower, and todays fiasco, we are exhausted. I am looking forward to a day of rest. And we are praying that mckay won't have any complications and that he will pass his ceramic lunch. , ha.

It looks like Ethan will probably get tubes in his ears again. We find out friday if that will be happening. He is pretty deaf lately from all the fluid in his ears, he says "what" alot. That will be me in a few years, ha ha.

I am very grateful for good neighbors and friends who will take my kids in a moments notice, and who watch over us, and vice versa. We are lucky to have such good people around us when we are far from our family.
