Day #8 of school days missed

I am wondering if my title should be day #1 of Home School. . . ha ha. . . the boys are going crazy. . . . so tomorrow we are starting a pseudo home school to add some structure and purpose to their non purposed days of never ending summer break. The school district is ridiculous. . . and my feeling is their dirty laundry is about to be aired. . . they are hiding financial records from the court. . .something is up. Regardless of who is at fault. . the kids need to be in school. .

We started preschool for the two little ones on Tuesday. . at my house with four other kids. So far so good, our first day was fun. We have an ESL student which should be interesting. Having the older boys home was a little challenging, so we will make other plans tomorrow.

Moses Lake

We went and camped in Moses Lake and checked out the little water park they had . . . it turned out to be totally great. Great price, and totally fun water stuff. . . we will go back again next summer. . we all had such a fun time. . . such a great sunny getaway from our grey skies.

day #2 of no school . . .

so obviously the teacher's did strike and school still has Not started. . . apparently teacher's striking in this state is not uncommon. . . but our superintendent has decided to take a different approach from the norm of negotiating. . . he has sent an injunction to the Supreme court that would force teachers back to school. So the message that I received stated that school would not be in session indefinitely???? Say What??? What does that mean, and why is this state so Crazy when it comes to dealing with political situations. I don't think the teachers demands are so unreasonable, but the timing is poor considering the economic state of the nation.

And may I add i hate being in limbo. . . not knowing what to plan for kids. . I need a plan, and need to know what to expect. Can I enroll my kids in Idaho or Utah and go on vacation. . . ha ha. . . oooh maybe hawaii.

sunny and 75 degrees!!

Could we ask for anything more? . . . I'm pretty happy, and sun makes me happy. WE are counting down the days until school may or may not start due to a teacher strike. I am fine either way, I feel like summer is too short anyway. . . but on the other hand to have a routine back might be welcomed. . . sooooo I guess we will see which one it is. We have been super busy trying to work on home projects, squeeze in summer fun before it ends, and getting ready for school and preschool to start. I am doing a preschool class in my home this year, and I am excited for it.

Squid and lyndi at the parade

4th of July belated. . .

I swear every one that has ever lived in Rexburg came home this year. . . probably because Rexburg 4th of July is saaaawweeeettttttt! Sorry my post is late I am catching up. .

It was Hot and sunny . . . just how we like it. . . most of the time, I have since had an exception this past week here in Washington where it hit 107 degrees with serious humidity and no AC.
my unsuspecting photo victims watching the parade. . . sister, husband, and brother in law.
